|Vote: WSDOT 2040 Plan Public Comment (Charlotte Lunday)
Background: Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) published a draft of its Vision 2040 transportation for public comment due on September 20, 2018. Our region is facing significant population growth, and the costs of living close to job centers is ever increasing, forcing more people to commute longer distances. WSDOT expressed interest in changes in technology that may assist in moving more people and goods efficiently through the State. As a result, some members of the Smart Cities and Privacy committees drafted a brief comment to examine technology solutions and important caveats to be considered.
